Hello everyone!
Congratulations on all your offers to study at Newnham – to which I have yet to hear someone give me a con of being at (it’s the best college) – it’s a truly amazing achievement and you should be incredibly proud!! Newnham’s welcoming and warm atmosphere is so ready to have you guys here!
I’m Amelia (she/her) and I’m here (alongside my lovely committee, and the subject reps and volunteers) to support your move into the college, and university in general, in late September/early October this year, for anything you need – and for the fun bits – to help you really settle in! I’m a first-year MMLer – as we like to call ourselves – (French and Spanish both post A-Level), and I can’t wait to see all of our plans materialise for you guys, to make Freshers’ Week the warmest welcome you could ask for!
Hopefully until you get here, this page can be a useful point of reference for any concerns or queries you might have about moving to university. Even though you have nothing to worry about, I understand how scary the prospect can be for lots of people – I was so excited but also terrified! But I’m going to do the absolute best I can to support you guys through the process and give you the best start to this whole new world.
